Highly Recommend

I had the pleasure of dealing with Michael on a purchase that initially seemed straightforward but turned out to be more complicated. Throughout the process, he kept me informed, answered all of my questions promptly, and took the time to explain any issues I didn’t understand. His professionalism and support made the experience much easier and more reassuring.

We purchased a property via Shepherds of Hertford in 2025. The situation with the property and the chain was a complex one (as they often are), but Michael and David kept us informed and we successfully moved. Michael was always easy to reach and a pleasure to deal with, and we are deeply grateful to both Michael and David for all their hard work in seeing the purchase over the line. Thank you!

Brilliant estate agent

Genuinely warm and professional service all round. From valuation to sale everyone at Shepherds was a pleasure to deal with and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. Particular thanks to David and Michael for all their help.

Professionals in every sense

Shepherd’s were recommended to me when I was viewing a house, with an out of town agent who used to work for them - it’s always a good sign for me when a former employee speaks highly of a company.

From the outset they were a cut above the others. When valuing our house, David was overly prepared in comparison which really filled me with confidence. I felt THEY would be doing their best to sell our house rather than relying on the location to sell the house, and I could be wrong. Shepherds sold our house in the fourth week at a price we were happy with, and they had valued it at £25k above the others, proving their knowledge of the market.

David, Peter, Michael and Abby were always so helpful, even answering questions I had relating to my onwards purchase (which wasn’t with them). I always felt their advice and support was genuine and would highly recommend them to anyone who can’t decide from the many estate agents we have in Hertford.

Good service

Good communication from staff at shepherds at all points in the process.
They were always available to answer any queries very promptly.
The only slight negative was the number of emails on behalf of their client which was increasingly intrusive.
However, when this was flagged, I was happy with the responses from Shepherds.
I would also recommend a more helpful welcome pack on completion, things like water/electricity supplier/bin days etc.
Overall, the experience was positive.
