 Overall Opinion

By Mark & Esther On 12/08/2025

We purchased a property via Shepherds of Hertford in 2025. The situation with the property and the chain was a complex one (as they often are), but Michael and David kept us informed and we successfully moved. Michael was always easy to reach and a pleasure to deal with, and we are deeply grateful to both Michael and David for all their hard work in seeing the purchase over the line. Thank you!

Thank You

Thanks to Michael, David and the whole team for all the support and advice, which resulted in the swift sale of our house. Your advice was spot on, you clearly know your market and the feedback throughout the process was exceptional - thanks again, I'd definitely recommend Shepherds

Excellent professional service

A professional team, that helped us through the buying process. We even got a handy goodie pack on the day we moved in!

Professionals in every sense

Shepherd’s were recommended to me when I was viewing a house, with an out of town agent who used to work for them - it’s always a good sign for me when a former employee speaks highly of a company.

From the outset they were a cut above the others. When valuing our house, David was overly prepared in comparison which really filled me with confidence. I felt THEY would be doing their best to sell our house rather than relying on the location to sell the house, and I could be wrong. Shepherds sold our house in the fourth week at a price we were happy with, and they had valued it at £25k above the others, proving their knowledge of the market.

David, Peter, Michael and Abby were always so helpful, even answering questions I had relating to my onwards purchase (which wasn’t with them). I always felt their advice and support was genuine and would highly recommend them to anyone who can’t decide from the many estate agents we have in Hertford.

Good service

Good communication from staff at shepherds at all points in the process.
They were always available to answer any queries very promptly.
The only slight negative was the number of emails on behalf of their client which was increasingly intrusive.
However, when this was flagged, I was happy with the responses from Shepherds.
I would also recommend a more helpful welcome pack on completion, things like water/electricity supplier/bin days etc.
Overall, the experience was positive.

House sale

Overall a great service and although we had one chain collapse it was sorted by the team at Shepherds and we sold again with a few days.

Communication was clear and prompt, and they made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for a reliable and supportive housing agent
