Best estate agent by far

Shepherds of Hertford took over marketing my property from another agent, as I was disappointed at the lack of movement. From the outset David was professional and attentive and it was clear from the standard of advice and attention to detail that I was now in an entirely different league. The team at Shepherds are approachable, calm, and go above and beyond what is required to make your sale/purchase as stress-free as possible. They are excellent communicators, answering my emails in minutes, so I never felt as if I was waiting around for a response. When it came to the tense days just before exchange, David was encouraging and supportive, recommending contractors for quotes as the house I was buying needed some maintenance - all done without fuss and always with enthusiasm and good-humour. I have moved many times in London and Hertford, but I can honestly say I have never had this sort of service from any other agent. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone and if I ever move again, they will have my business. Thank you, David and the team.

Outstanding service

My partner and I had an excellent experience purchasing our home through Shepherds, particularly thanks to David. Both David and the team at Shepherds ensured smooth and efficient communication, keeping us informed at every stage of the process. David was always helpful, professional, and proactive, going above and beyond to make sure everything ran as seamlessly as possible. His expertise and attention to detail made the entire process as stress-free as it could be, even when we encountered the usual ‘bumps in the road’ that come with buying and selling a home. We truly appreciated his dedication and would highly recommend his services to anyone looking to buy or sell a property. Outstanding service from start to finish!

Clear comms, great result

We sold our home with Shepherds and were really pleased with the service we received.

The initial listing was great and generated loads of interest, and the "open day" marketing strategy was really convenient, allowing us to get 3 offers from a single day's worth of viewings.

After we were under offer, David and the team were really proactive with the transaction - of all the estate agents in the chain, David was the most active in driving things forward - regularly chasing with all the parties and finding the bottlenecks, and suggesting plans to get them resolved. The clarity of communication was also fantastic - David would tell you exactly what he was going to do, and when you could expect to hear from him again.

I cannot recommend Shepherds highly enough! Throughout my dealings with them I had politeness and courtesy, which made all our negotiations pleasant and straight forward, David's advice regarding pricing were helpful and productive. Peter's photos and day to day emails were so appreciated! You won't find anybody better in Hertford.

Such an easy sale

All the staff at Shepherds were excellent ensuring the sale of our property went through smoothly, even when the purchaser caused problems at a late stage, David and his staff dealt with it swiftly and ensured that the completion took place on time. We were kept notified at every stage and they liaised with our solicitors as well.

Excellent from start to finish

David, Peter and the team were excellent from start to finish. They understood my circumstances and proceeded accordingly. Having bought from them when I first moved to Hertford 17 years ago and then having sold two houses with them, I wouldn't hesitate in using them again and recommending them to others.

Amazing service

We have just completed a very complicated sale. The property was previously rented out and the tenant refused to leave, subsequently our purchaser used a solicitor who was, for no reason, determined to slow the whole process down to the point where exchange and completion happened in less than a week. Through all of this Shepherds kept us informed and did their very best to keep the whole process on track. I have used them several times over the years and have always been very satisfied.
