Fantastic hospitalty

Booked at fairly short notice. Peter could not have been more accommodating. Three adults in one room one being our disabled son. Could not have done more for us. Thanks for the great stay. We will be back and thoroughly reccommend this cracking little gem.

All good, very happy

Everything was great, and I liked that the hotel room was huge, with 3 beds and a lot of space (the hotel rooms I've stayed before usually are tiny). I really liked the atmosphere, it was clean too, no complaints. Also, they kept our bags till the afternoon after we had checked out. Thank you :)

Very nice

Excellent very friendly, all staff are great ( jack ) room was basic just needs one or two thing in the bathroom like a shelf to put your toothbrush ect ect , also a couple of glasses. Excellent will return

Clean, friendly and reasonable

If you're looking for a more interesting and characterful alternative to the likes of Travelodge, Holiday Inn etc, this could work for you. The room was large, light and airy, everything was nice and clean and in good working order. The bed was a bit soft, and it's perhaps a slightly longer walk from the town centre than would be ideal but generally all good. Enjoying a pint on arrival was definitely a plus, too.

Lovely stay by the seaside

We had a lovely stay at the Iron Duke. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, rooms are simple, clean and comfortable and it's a lovely old building, full of character, with the added bonus of an ace pub underneath the hotel. I can't account for the breakfast because we didn't get up in time (for shame!) but if it's anything like the rest of the hotel then it'll be great. Looking forward to our next visit.

Not bad at all. Cant complain.

Me and my Girlfriend stayed at this accommodation for two nights In mid February. The small bar and Restaurant area as you come in is absolutely lovely, with its candle lit tables and dim lighting it has a really warm and romantic feel to it. Unfortunately we did not get the chance to eat in the Restaurant but I would certainly recommend trying it out if you are a fan of Tia food.

When we got to our en suit room (in 3) we were pretty impressed with comfort and cleanliness, however the toilet was making persistent underground pumping noises at times that were getting slightly annoying. The following day after returning to our room in the afternoon we discovered that the toilet needed urgent maintenance after finding two plumbers in our room! Despite being unhappy with the situation the manager offered us a new room, made it up to us and I was ensured that this was a one off.

I would recommend The Iron Duke to any couple wanting a short, romantic, good value for money stay.

Excellent

The staff were so friendly and helpful, rooms were beautiful and very spacious. Has to be one of the nicest places I have stayed, and within walking distance to seafront, bars, clubs ect. Excellent value for money. Will definitely return.
