Spectacular

Great hotel in the city centre. The rooms are clean and tidy, cleaned every day. The heating is perfect in winter and hot water always available. The rooms are inexpensive and Jonathan, who takes care of almost everything in the hotel, is a young man always ready to help. Breakfast is good and the quality of food served is excellent. Especially recommended to Italian guests who have problems with the language. Jonathan is sort of bilingual. I'll certainly go back.

Great location

The location is really great. Very close to underground station for Circle line.
The english breakfast is excelent.
Free Wifi connection.
The staff is very accommodating.
The only drawback: the street is a bit noisy, more especially during the day.

Very nice

Located in a strategic position, the Winrose is a small B&B.
First thing you notice is the cleaning of the whole spaces, room and breakfast area. Towels are changed daily.
You can choose between a rich English or continental breakfast. And if you want more you just ask.
The owner is a very kind person, who provided us information before our leaving from Italy and gave us an unexpected welcome in Italian.

The only negative thing is the small (very small) bathroom.
If you are oversized you hardly can get in.

Winrose is a perfect location for a week end in London, with good quality/price balance.

Good value for money

We are a couple who travel to London once or twice a year and we have stayed at different hotels around Paddington, but this is the far best we have ever stayed at. This year we even took some friends with us and they shared our opinion concerning the hotel. To sum it up, the staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean, the breakfast is good, the showers and toilets are working, you can open the windows and the TV is working. With this hotel you can't go wrong - highly recomendable!! We have a special regards to the girls in the kitchen responsible for the breakfast, they are just fantastic.

Cosy and Safe

Stayed here for 3 days and 2 Nights, in June 2012. As others said, it often has a Full Occupancy sign on its door, in comparison to its neighbours which have vacancies. I got a single room, which I found very clean, cozy, comfortable and spacious. Nice curtains which kept out the light (needed that as I had to recover in bed on the second day as I was running a fever) and street noise. Occasional sirens, but glad it wasn't to anywhere nearby.

The showers and toilets are shared, but I found them generally clean and decent. There was an unsued bath in one of the toilets. I did not have a problem finding an unused toilet/shower.

There are different types of rooms on different levels, the door was a little heavy and difficult to jolt open (key hole type), but that is fine by me, and generally the walls are thin so it is not so acoustic proof (I could hear the conversations of the lady guests next door). You'd have to traverse a long narrow stairwell to go to the rooms, but the owner always helped me with my luggages. However, the stairs would be a concern if I am with young children or not too sober. But it does draw a more mature crowd, so none of those drunks I guess?

The breakfast was sumptious, you could order Continental, English Breakfast or about anything. I found my breakfast talks with the propertier interesting too. You feel safe staying in this place. You feel looked after, which was important as I was travelling alone. He even allowed me to store my luggages in his quarters, even after granting me a late check out, while I continued to explore London. That was very kind and accomodating of him.

The area was nice too. Felt safe walking back from Paddington Station after midnight, after watching a play. It is very close by, and is also close by to Edgeware and Marylebone stations too. Well located, with many Middle-Eastern eateries and shops around the neigbourhood where you can get your kebabs and coffee and such. A Marks & Spencers nearby too.

If you book tours, you can be picked up 2 doors away, and you can book many tours from the nearby Metropolitian (I think) Hotel, if memory serves me right,

I would book here again, if I find myself back in London. Mainly because of the wonderful rooms, the warm conversations with the owner who is very knowledgeable, and definitely the full breakfasts that gave me the ooomph to face the day. Thank you for making my stay wonderful.

L'hotel si trova un pò fuori dal centro di Londra ma la fermata della metro è a due passi, quindi ottima location. Le stanze sono piccole, il bagno è minuscolo, il lavandino microscopico, ma dovendoci soltanto dormire va benissimo.
E' pulito, cosa ottima.
La colazione è stata una piacevole sorpresa, si può scegliere tra dolce e salato.
Jonathan, il proprietario, parla benissimo l'italiano ed è veramente gentilissimo, subito pronto a dare una mano.
In complesso, trattandosi di Londra il rapporto qualità/prezzo è buono, soprattutto perchè è pulito e ha il bagno in stanza.
Sicuramente ci tornerei.

absolutely to recommend

Small but very nice hotel. Room was great, light, big and clean! Good facilities in the bath aswell. Very good and fast wifi internet. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great value for the money and absolutely to recommend!!! Thank you for the stay!!
