Brilliant

Although being locals for many years we had not visited The Royal. The main reason is that with most hotels Vegetarians and Vegans are not well catered for. Our visit to the Royal was a fantastic treat for us as we were served a superb nut roast on sauteed mushrooms and we helped ourselves to a good choice of vegetables from the carvery. There was plenty of food, piping hot and the vegetables were very fresh and beautifully cooked. We will certainly go there again - soon.

Fantastic

Took my family out to the carvery for a birthday treat. The food was delicious, the staff great, surroundings A+. Would highly recommend.

Always very good food

Although I am a vegetarian I often go to carveries with my husband and although this one was a little more expensive than the common one's in the area, the size of helpings and quality of the food is well worth the extra. They even offered to make some vegetarian gravy for me which arrived promptly and piping hot to our table.

We have also eaten in the evenings and the quality of the food, portion size and presentation has always been excellent, not what one expects in a pub. You can usually tell the quality of the venue by how many locals use it and this one is certainly popular, visited on any night of the week.

I wish I was able to add images of the food we have eaten there - maybe next time!
